A few months ago I got back into Sims 4. It had been quite awhile since I played, but The Sims is just one of those games I always go back to. Typically when I play I spend forever making a sim and a house, using money cheats of course. This time I wanted to actually play. So I was browsing Reddit and saw something about legacy challenges. I’m honestly not sure how I haven’t heard of them before. I looked this up, but decided I wasn’t going to be as strict about it as it’s set up. I’m following some of the overall guidelines, but I’m not stressing about it. Here is what it’s all about if you’re interested.
My overall guidelines:
- Gender Law: Matriarchy – The Founder must be female. Only girls are eligible to be named heir unless there are no female children, at which point boys become eligible for that generation.
- Bloodline Law: Traditional – Children who are naturally born from the previous generation are eligible to be named heir. Adopted children are ineligible to be named heir unless there are no naturally born children, at which point they become eligible for that generation.
- Heir Law: Last Born – The youngest, by order of joining the family, eligible living child is named heir.
I’m really bad at taking screenshots, but I have a few I’ll share of my founder, previous heirs, and current heir along with their traits and careers (if any).
Founder – Vivian Scott – Music track career
- Music Lover
I have next to 0 pictures of my founder. I have, thankfully, gotten better at snagging screenshots through the game, but I was at least able to grab this one from my in-game gallery! Vivian struggled in the beginning. Living in a tent with nothing else but an outdoor shower, toilet, and her violin. Here is a picture of her first “home”.
Vivian and her husband, Ayaan, had 2 children. Their first born, Anuj, and then Violet. Anuj worked as a chef and married his high school sweetheart.
Generation 2 Heir – Violet Scott – Art track career
- Art Lover
Unfortunately I have very few pictures of Violet. Here she is with her husband Theodore. She was a gifted artist, and he was a stay at home parent who played the piano and sold music when he could.
Violet and Theodore had 2 children. Vanessa, the oldest, and Valerie. Vanessa married her high school boyfriend after her and her sister had a small fight over him. Violet works as a comedian and has two children.
Generation 3 Heir – Valerie Scott – Political track career
Valerie may seem harsh, but as the Leader of the Free World she’s had to make a few sacrifices when it came to family. Now that she’s an elder she’s considering retirement to spend time with her large family. Valerie and Bruce are enjoying a very rare date night.
Valerie and her husband Bruce had 4 boys 3 of which are now grown and starting their own families. Her youngest, the heir, is currently in grade school.
Generation 4 Heir – Alexander Scott – Currently in grade school, but already showing promise with music and art. Traits that seem to run in the family.
- Art Lover
I’ll get more pictures of Alex as he ages up! I’m pretty excited for his teenage years. 😀
